2017 WCU football verbal commit - Keshaun Hurst
Keshaun Hurst

Height: 6'5"

Hurst is a verbal commit to the Catamounts, he currently has offers from Cornell, Navy, Army and Air Force.
"The decision to commit to the Catamounts program, which plays football in the Southern Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision, puts to bed a recruiting process which really began to blow up for Hurst in February. During the spring evaluation period, when college coaches lay the groundwork for the following season’s recruiting class, Hurst’s game received interest and offers from wide-ranging sources. Three of those offers came from service academies: Army, Navy and Air Force, with another coming in from Cornell University." (Link to this article)

2016 Preseason SoCon Football Power Rankings
Welcome to Purple & Gold's Preseason 2016 SoCon Football Power Rankings.
Just to refresh your memory, the final 2015 power rankings ended with Chattanooga in the #1 position, followed by The Citadel at #2, and Western Carolina holding down the #3 position.
The Cats were followed by Samford in #4 and Wofford as #5. In the lower third, Mercer came in at #6, Furman at #7 and VMI was #8.

2017 WCU football verbal commit - Trevor Childers

Weight: 181 lbs

Hudl highlights
Last season, Childers led the Mustangs in total tackles with 123, including 26 for a loss. He added three sacks, five interceptions and two caused fumbles. On the offensive side of the ball, Childers caught 15 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns in the 2015 season. The rising senior is also a baseball player. This spring, he hit .292 with 26 runs scored, 22 RBIs and six extra-base hits.
