Only two games today, Jacksonville played UNCG in Greensboro and Mercer played Western Michigan in Nashville, TN.
Jacksonville at UNCG
UNCG's Kayel Locke led the Spartans' rally from a 10-point second half deficit to defeat Jacksonville 71-69 in the final game of the Spartan Showcase at the Greensboro Coliseum. Locke scored a game-high 19 points, he connected on 8-of-14 from the field, including hitting his last three shots. Sophomore forward Marvin Smith posted his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Mercer vs. Western Michigan
The Bear's Stephon Jelks scored 14 points and Phillip Leonard made 3 of 4 free throws in final 35 seconds as Mercer beat Western Michigan 68-65 for their third straight victory in the Challenge at Music City. Jordan Strawberry and Leonard added 10 points apiece for Mercer, which is off to its best start in over 30 years.
