Junior tailback Darius Ramsey was named the Southern Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for games played on Sept. 6.
Ramsey accounted for 95 yards of total offense and scored a career-high three touchdowns in Western Carolina's 45-21 win over Brevard on Saturday night.
Ramsey averaged 9.7 yards per carry rushing nine times for 88 yards and three scores., he also caught one pass for 7 yards.
From Waco, North Carolina, Ramsey led scoring for WCU with two rushing scores in the first quarter. He capped his scoring with a two-yard plunge just before halftime to spot WCU a 28-14 lead at the break
This is the second-straight week a Catamount earned offensive player of the week honors from the conference. In week one, Troy Mitchell was selected for the weekly honor, which was the first in the three-year tenure of head coach Mark Speir.
