The 2013-14 Furman men's basketball team was picked to finish ninth in the Southern Conference in polling of the league's media and 10th in voting by the league's head coaches. The Paladins will enter the game in 10th place in the conference, with a 1-9 SoCon record just ahead of the winless Bulldogs from The Citadel. The Paladins are 7-16 overall, and are 3-10 in away games.
On a four game losing streak, the Paladins find themselves in 10th place in scoring offense with only 66.5 points per game and the Paladins are in 8th place in the conference in scoring defense, giving up 74.2 points per game. Furman has three players scoring in double figures, sophomore guard Stephen Croone leads the Paladins with 19.3 points, followed by sophomore Kendrec Ferrara and sophomore Larry Wideman scoring just over 10 points per game each.
