Soccer - #18 Kayla Sedgle

Western Carolina women's soccer kicked off the 2013 campaign on Aug 7th with their first preseason practice of 2013.

The Catamounts return 20 players from the 2012 squad, including five seniors and 10 juniors. The Cats also welcome 10 newcomers to the squad, nine freshmen and sophomore transfer.

2012 Junior: Played in nine games ... One assist, one point and one shot.

2011 Sophomore: Played in 17 matches and started one ... Scored one goal, a game-winner against Murray State ... Also had one assist and notched three points ... Took eight shots on the year.

2010 Freshman: Played and started in all 19 matches ... Scored one goal ... Her 19 shots ranked third on the team ... The seven shots on goal also ranks third on the team ... Had one game-winning goal against High Point.

High School: Won a state championship her freshman year at Scituate High School and reached the quarter-finals her sophomore and junior year ... Her junior and senior year, named First Team All-Division, First Team All-State her senior year and Second Team All-State as a junior.

Personal: Kayla Young Sedgley ... Daughter of Kirk and Arlene Sedgley ... Has one brother, Kyle.
