“Not very often across the country are teams able to win four games in four nights at this level,” said Western Carolina coach Larry Hunter when asked about playing four days in the tournament. “It doesn’t mean it can’t be done, but it’s just not likely. Playing one less game is certainly an advantage if you’re able to win and keep progressing.”

“We want to continue and improve and try to defend our home court and continue to build momentum,” Hunter said. “We’re gaining confidence. I think we’re getting more versatile. We’ve just got to keep getting better.”

“Chattanooga’s a good team, and they’re playing with a lot of intensity,” said WCU guard James Sinclair, who’s averaging 6.8 points a game. “If we come out either slow or not ready to play, they can give us problems.”
