Jiménez and Kissell to play in the Carolina Regional Championships

Stacia Kissell and Karen Jiménez  will compete in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships to be held at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.  The tournament starts on Thursday, Oct. 18th.

The Carolina Regional Championships consists of the best collegiate players selected from both North and South Carolina.  The singles finals are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 22.

"Karen (Jiménez) has always been a very mentally tough player. In the past, she's had to deal with some injuries, but she's a fighter and finds a way to get the job done," said head coach Chris Wollett. "Now that she's healthy and playing well, I feel she's prepared for this type of tournament."

"I think it's great that Stacia (Kissell) is in the main draw of the ITA Regional as a freshman," continued Wollett. "She had some solid results at Elon and has really been pushing herself since then. This tournament is going to be a good test for her."
