Elon, NC - The
Elon Phoenix had won 22 games this season when they had the lead after seven innings. That streak ended Saturday, as the
Catamounts rallied back from a 5-3 deficit to knock off the
Phoenix by a 6-5 score in game one of a three-game
SoCon series at Latham Park.
Trailing by two after the
Phoenix scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the
Cats pulled within one in the sixth. In the eight inning, home run leader
Adam Martin knocked his seventh home of the season over the left field fence. Later in the inning,
Jacob Hoyle doubled, before scoring on a single up the middle by
Dykota Spiess.
