CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball (3-10, 1-3 SoCon) launched a flurried comeback, but fell short to visiting UNCG (7-5, 4-0 SoCon) 56-50 Monday in the Ramsey Center. The Catamounts spent 19 minutes of the second half trying to overcome a 14 point, 34-20, halftime deficit to the Spartans. Trailing by five, 50-45, with 1:35 left in the game, junior Kaila'Shea Menendez hit a jumper to trim the UNCG lead to three, 50-47.
