Men play Davidson at Noon on SportSouth; women vs. Charleston at 3 pm
Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina hosts a Southern Conference hoops doubleheader this Saturday, Jan. 8 tipping off at Noon on-campus at the Liston B. Ramsey Regional Activity Center. In the first game, the Catamount men's basketball team returns home for the first time since November as it entertains Davidson with a 12:00 pm tip-off, while the women's squad goes for back-to-back home wins as it battles the College of Charleston at 3:00 pm.
Tickets for the doubleheader are just $5.00 at the Ramsey Center ticket office on Saturday. Between games, the Catamount men's team will be signing autographs on the concourse prior to the tip-off of the women's game. The Catamount Club will also hold its "Purple Zone" event between games on Saturday on the Southeast Corner of the Ramsey Center Concourse. Doors open at 11:00 am.
Saturday's men's game will be regionally televised live on SportSouth with Tom Werme and former Auburn standout, Daymeon Fishback, on the call. (Dish Network channel 437; DirecTV channel 649; check local cable listings).
Both games of the twin bill will be broadcast on the Catamount Sports Network beginning with the men's game with an air time of 11:30 am ahead of the Noon tip-off. The Catamount women's game will air beginning at 2:45 pm in front of their 3:00 pm start. Gary Ayers and Steven Crumpler will have the call. Fans can listen to both games locally on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee and online at CatamountSports.com. The men's game will additionally be broadcast on 680 AM WRGC in Sylva and 920 AM WPTL in Canton.
