In conjunction with its 2011 season Opening Weekend, Western Carolina head baseball coach Bobby Moranda has announced the second-ever "Celebration of Catamount Baseball" fundraising event that will be held Saturday, Feb. 19 at 7:00 pm. The banquet will coincide with the season-opening home series as WCU unveils the on-going renovations Ronnie G. Childress Field at Hennon Stadium.
Coming off a 37-win season that included 21 home victories and a runner-up finish in the Southern Conference Baseball Championship, WCU opens the 2011 season with a three-game, non-conference series against Morehead State on Friday, Feb. 18 at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium. The "Celebration" begins following Saturday afternoon's game between the Catamounts and the Eagles.
