This week's Purple & Gold football picks (9-1-17)

It's still week #1 in the SoCon, and we're back to start make this weekend's football picks.

On Saturday, we have 5 games to pick.

VMI (0-0) at Air Force (0-0)   2:00 pm EDT - watch on ESPN3
The Keydets travel to Colorado Springs to meet the Falcons of the Air Force Academy. I don't think this one turns out well for the Keydets, as the Falcons roll.
Final Score:  VMI 10 - Air Force 38

Newberry (0-0) at the Citadel  (0-0)  6:00 pm EDT - watch on ESPN3
In one of two non-D-1 games this weekend, the defending SoCon champs entertains Div II Newberry. The Bulldogs, like the Falcons, roll
Final Score: Newberry 7 - Citadel 35

Furman (0-0) at Wofford (0-0)   6:00 pm EDT - watch on ESPN3
In the premier game of the week, the Paladins travel to Spartanburg to face the Terriers, the preseason pick to win the SoCon.  While the Paladians hopes are running high with a new coaching staff, the Terriers still have Coach Ayers.
Final Score: Furman 14 - Wofford  28

Limestone (0-0) at ETSU (0-0)   7:00 pm EDT - watch on ESPN3
In the second non-D-I game of the weekend, Div. II Limestone travels to Johnson City to help the Bucs christen their new stadium. The Saints become part of Bucs football history, losing to ETSU in the opening game of the William B. Green, Jr. Stadium.
Final Score:  Limestone 7 - ETSU 42

Western Carolina (0-0) at Hawaii (1-0)  12 pm (midnight)
The Cats travel to Hawaii to meet the Rainbow Warriors in what could be the Catamounts first every win over a FBS program. We catch the Rainbow Warriors looking past WCU to UCLA and take the victory in a close win.
Final Score: Western Carolina 35  - Hawaii  28

Record this season:
3-0 overall
