Catamount Basketball - #4 Torrion Brummitt

The Catamount Basketball season tips off on November 13th in Cincinnati as the Catamounts open the season against the Bearcats at 7:00 pm on ESPN3. To start getting folks in the mood for basketball in the middle of football season, lets take a look at this season's team.

We'll start with the freshmen and move up to the seniors.

2014-15 (Junior): Started all 32 games for the Catamounts ... Tied for the team lead in rebounds per game (6.3) and was fourth in scoring (11.2) ... Shot 46.3 percent from the field and 68.1 percent from the free throw line ... Shared the team's Most Improved Player Award ... Named the team's Scholar Athlete Award winner ... Made first collegiate start at Mississippi State (11/14) and scored six points ... Scored in double-figures 19 times for the Catamounts including a season-high 31 points against VMI (02/21) ... Had three double-doubles and had four double-digit rebound games ... Had a career-high 14 boards against ETSU (01/15) ... Made his first career 3-pointer against UNCG (01/10) ... Had a season-high three blocked shots five times during the season ... Tied a career-high with three assists against Alabama (11/17) ... Scored at least one point in every game during the season ... Played a career-high 43 minutes against VMI while going 11-15 from the field and 9-13 from the free throw line.

2013-14 (Sophomore): Appeared in 33 games ... Tallied six career-highs against Wittenberg (11/08) including 12 points, on 5-of-7 shooting, and six rebounds ... Played a career-high 28 minutes against Niagara (11/22) ... Had a career-high seven rebounds in the game ... Scored a career-high 16 points against Milligan (12/30) ... Made a career-high six free throws in the game ... Missed the Davidson (01/23) game with an injury ... Grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in the overtime win over App State (02/08) ... Scored seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor in the Southern Conference Tournament's semifinal upset win over No. 1 seed Davidson (03/09).

2012-13 (Freshman): Made an appearance in 16 of the team's 33 games ... Averaged 4.9 minutes per game ... Made his collegiate debut and scored his first basket at the 15:56 mark in the second half against UNC Asheville (11/09) ... Grabbed a career-high four rebounds in the UNCA game ... Played 11 minutes for a career high and scored four points against Warren Wilson (01/07) ... Tied a career-high with four rebounds in the game ... Notched 11 minutes tying a career-high against Chattanooga (02/28) with a career-high six points ... Went 4-of-7 from the free throw line.

Prior to Western Carolina: Averaged 12.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as a junior for the Raiders and head coach Anthony Jenkins ... As a sophomore, was named Defensive Player of the Year and team MVP ... Over his amateur career, he has played AAU basketball for the Georgia Blazers and the Atlanta Knicks.
