Purple & Gold's pick was:  "Catamounts open season four under Head Coach Mark Speir with the expected win against the Division II, Mars Hill Lions, 42-3"

Coastal Carolina at Furman - Coastal's Alex Ross threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns, to lead Coastal Carolina to a 38-35 win over Furman.
