The Citadel's Ashton Moore went the length of the court and nailed a pull-up jumper with three seconds left to give the Bulldogs a 74-73 victory over ETSU on Thursday.
Attendance: 1,358

Wofford  at Mercer -
Wofford's Spencer Collins scored 26 points as the Terriers wrapped up their third Southern Conference regular season championship and the No. 1 seed into the conference tournament with a 76-72 win over Mercer Thursday night.
Attendance: 3,870 

Samford at UNCG -
UNCG's RJ White scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds, leading four Spartan players in double figures, as the Spartans beat Samford 81-67 on Thursday night.
Attendance: 1,893

Chattanooga at VMI -
Chattanooga's Casey Jones had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots, and Eric Robertson scored 19 to help the Mocs to a  86-82 victory over Virginia Military Institute  in double overtime on Thursday night.
Attendance: 1,127

Furman snapped a seven-game skid with a 53-49 win over Western Carolina Thursday. Trailing by five at the half, Furman took the lead during a 17-0 run against the seemingly helpless Cats.

Basketball: Furman (Game #29)

On Thursday, the Catamounts continue SoCon play as they travel to Travelers Rest, SC to play their second game versus Furman. The Cats (13-15, 8-8 SoCon) have won three straight meetings between the two teams, including a 72-53 victory in Cullowhee, N.C., back on January 5.

The Cats are 28-37 all time against the Paladins, and are just 9-22 in games between the two played in Travelers Rest. Western is 2-2 in their last four games, but have lost their last two games, while the Paladins last won a game back on January 29th.

The Paladins have lost seven straight games and are 7-20 overall and 4-12 in Southern Conference play entering the final weekend of the regular season. Furman is no locked into playing the in the opening round of the SoCon Tournament on Friday, March 6, in Asheville, N.C. regardless of the outcome of this game.

The Citadel's Ashton Moore scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 62-56 overtime victory over Furman on Thursday night.

VMI (Game #28)

On Saturday, the Keydets travel to Cullowhee to meet the Catamounts for the second time this season, as Western looks for the seasonal sweep of VMI.  The Cats currently own a 29-21 record over the Keydets all time, and are sporting a three game win streak over VMI,.

The Cats have only three games remaining in the regular season, with the VMI game as the last home game of the regular season for the Cats, before next week's road trip to both Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina. 

The Keydets are 8-13 overall this season, and own a 6-9  SoCon record, and are coming off a road victory over their biggest rival, The Citadel, 84-69. VMI currently has a two game winning streak, and have won with fairly substantial numbers, 93-59 over Furman and 84-69 over the Citadel.

The Keydets are averaging 80.4 points per game, while holding opponents to a average of 79.3 points per game.

On Tuesday, the Cleveland State Vikings will be in Cullowhee for the final out of conference game of the season for Western Carolina. The Vikings bring a 16-11 overall record to the Ramsey Center, and are 10-3 as members of  the Horizon League.

The Vikings and Catamounts have only met once, as the Vickings beat the Cats last season in Cleveland, 55-66. Cleveland State comes to Cullowhee off a 67-59 win over the UIC Flames and have won 4 of their last 5 games, but are 4-9 in road games this season.   

The Vikings are averaging 68 points per game while allowing only 62 points, and are hitting an average of 7 three pointers per game,
