Baseball: Cats tabbed 31st nationally, Attaway & Hoyle named Preseason All-America

After a record-setting 2013 season, including 39 victories with 23 in league play, the Western Carolina Catamount baseball team has been tabbed 31st in the national preseason poll by Collegiate Baseball, while senior shortstop Aaron Attaway and junior first baseman Jacob Hoyle were both named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Pre-season All-America teams.

The preseason All-America honor from Collegiate Baseball is the second for Attaway, who was also selected by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). It is the first preseason olade for Hoyle who was dubbed post-season Freshman All-America in 2012. The Catamounts are the lone selections from the Southern Conference on the trio of preseason squads picked nationally by Louisville Slugger.

Western Carolina is joined in the preseason poll by two other SoCon members, as both Appalachian State and The Citadel are in the "others receiving votes" portion of the national preseason poll.
