Soccer - #5 Christina White

Western Carolina women's soccer kicked off the 2013 campaign on Aug 7th with their first preseason practice of 2013.

The Catamounts return 20 players from the 2012 squad, including five seniors and 10 juniors. The Cats also welcome 10 newcomers to the squad, nine freshmen and a sophomore transfer.

2012 (Sophomore): Played and started all 19 games ... Had one assist and one point ... Took seven shots, three on goal.

2011 (Freshman): Played and started all 20 matches ... Had one assist in the win over Winthrop ... Took four shots and ended the season with one point.

High School: White has been playing an extremely high level of competitive soccer in Canada over the past few years ... Club team, the Dixie Dragons were three time Ontario Cup finalists 2008-2010 ... Was Athlete of the Year both her junior and senior year ... Also played field hockey ... Leading scorer in her field hockey team, attended Regional Camp, and was invited to Junior National Field Hockey Camp in 2010.

Personal: Daughter of William and Martha Turnbull White ... Has three siblings, Two brothers- Brendan, 24 and Rory, 22, and a twin sister Shannon, age 17 ... A member of her high school marching band and plays the baritone ... At WCU, she plans on majoring in Education.
