Chattanooga 38, Jacksonville State 17
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs (1-1) scored 21 unanswered in running past Jacksonville State 38-17 at Finley Stadium.  The 23rd-ranked Mocs defense limited the Gamecocks (1-1), ranked No. 10 to just 17 second-half yards.

Clemson 35, Wofford 27
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Terriers were down by only one point at the start of the fourth quarter in Clemson, however the Tigers pulled away for a 35-27 final score at Memorial Stadium. The Terriers were up 21-13 in the second quarter and were tied at 21 at the half.

Furman 16, The Citadel 6
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Chas Short kicked three field goals, including a career long 46-yarder with just under three minutes remaining, to lift Furman (1-1, 1-0 SoCon) to a 16-6 victory over The Citadel (1-1, 0-1 SoCon) in the Southern Conference season opener for both schools Saturday evening at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

Georgia Southern 62, Tusculum 21
STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern pulled away from Tusculum (1-1) in the second half, outscoring the Pioneers 38-7 to improve to 2-0.  The Eagles had four backs that tallied more than 50 yards each, as GSU's offense rushed for 351 yards.  Jaybo Shaw completed six passes for 181 yards.

Samford 48, Stillman 6
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford  rolled up 473 yards of total offense on its way to a 48-6 win over the Stillman Tigers Saturday evening at Seibert Stadium.  With the win, Samford improves to 1-1 on the season.

Elon 42, Concord 10
ELON, N.C. –  Jason Swepson got his first career victory at Rhodes Stadium, as the Phoenix posted a  42-10 victory over the visiting Concord Mountain Lions on Saturday night. The Phoenix gained 400 yards of total offense.

Appalachian State 58, North Carolina A&T 6
BOONE, N.C. - Senior quarterback DeAndre Presley completed 19-of-23 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for two more as Appalachian State University football downed North Carolina A&T, 58-6, in the home opener on Saturday. The victory was head coach Jerry Moore's 200th at Appalachian.
