Football: Cats pick up two preferred walk-ons

Panther Creek running back Jonathan Douglas and Tuscola defensive back/wide receiver/running back Austin Chambers have accepted preferred walk-on possitions with Western Carolina.   Last season, Douglas carried the ball 282 times for 1,721 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 36 passes for 378 yards and four touchdowns.  Chambers received All-Appalachian Athletic Conference and All-WNC honors in 2010 and was a four-year varsity player and shares the Mountaineers’ record for career interceptions (13).
